At La Bamba Preschool, teachers work closely with families to ensure a smooth transition to elementary school and to create an experience that supports each child’s social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development. A balanced routine gives children the security to explore freely and confidently.
Work and play
Children explore with activities like science, painting, crafts, and clean-up. Puppet shows and stories help build strong language skills. Teacher-led movement games help integrate the senses, and support physical and emotional development. Imagination and creativity are at the core of our curriculum. Creative play is an essential part of children's physical, emotional, social, and cognitive growth. Our outdoor classroom provides endless opportunities for exploration and early science experiments.
Field trips and curriculum enrichment outings
Preschoolers take local walking field trips on weekly basis, to practice walking with a group listen and follow directions. It is a perfect opportunity to explore our surroundings and gives them a sense of adventure and independence.
Healthy movement
Children develop motor skills, integrate their senses, and work cooperatively in the early years. Music and movement: Teacher-led activities and games are balanced with time for free movement, indoors and out. Fine motor and artistic expression are encouraged through watercolor painting, craft and cooking activities, and free play.
